R305 Fingerprint Sensor Module – Optical Fingerprint Scanner with TTL UART Interface
Product Description
The R305 Fingerprint Sensor Module is an optical biometric fingerprint recognition module designed for secure identification and authentication applications. It combines an optical fingerprint reader, image-processing capabilities, and an onboard fingerprint recognition algorithm in a compact unit.
The module captures fingerprint images, processes them, and stores fingerprint templates in its internal memory. It supports both 1:1 verification and 1 identification, allowing a registered fingerprint to be verified against a selected template or searched against the stored fingerprint database.
With its TTL UART communication interface, the R305 can be connected to compatible microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, and other embedded development boards. It is suitable for electronic door locks, attendance systems, access-control projects, and biometric security applications.

Important Notes
The supplied specifications mention a storage capacity of 120 templates, while some R305 product descriptions list different capacities. Confirm the actual module's capacity with the supplier before publishing a guaranteed number.
The supplied R305/R307 comparison lists different storage capacities and interface features. These specifications can vary by module version; do not assume R307 specifications apply to R305.
The module uses TTL UART signals. A suitable level converter may be required when connecting it to equipment with incompatible serial voltage levels.
The listed operating voltage does not automatically mean that every signal pin is 5 V tolerant. Check the module documentation before connecting it to a microcontroller.
A USB connection to a PC may require a compatible USB-to-TTL adapter, depending on the actual board version.
FAR and FRR values are manufacturer-specified figures and may vary with fingerprint quality, installation, and operating conditions.
